Chanukah Services and Events

The Festival of Lights begins Tuesday and area congregations are having a variety of events and services.

Chanukah begins at sundown on Tuesday and area congregations and Jewish community centers are preparing for the Festival of Lights this week with dinners, menorah lightings and services.

on Cochran Road in Scott Township kicks off the holiday with its Tikki Chanukah dinner at 5:30 p.m. Tuesday

Temple Emanuel on Bower Hill Road in Mt. Lebanon will have a Chanukah dinner and candle lighting Wednesday a 6 p.m. It will also have regular services Friday night. Those attending can bring their menorahs for a lighting before the services begin at 7:30 p.m.

Ahavath Achim Congregation in Carnegie will have their normal service at 9:30 a.m. Saturday.

Chabad Jewish Center for Living and Learning is having it Chanukah party this Monday at 6:30 p.m. The center is located on McFarland Road in Dormont, and those who want to attend must RSVP by e-mailing shaina@chabadsh.com.

The had a party over the weekend and have a senior luncheon planned for Wednesday.
