Banksville Road Construction Resumes Monday

The work was scheduled to begin Thursday morning and continue through Monday, but rain showers in the Pittsburgh area pushed construction back a few days.

Construction is now expected to begin Monday and continue until Wednesday night.

Crews plan to install crosswalk markings at various intersections and pave Helen Street at the intersection with Banksville Road.

The northbound lanes of Banksville Road will be restricted from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. The southbound lanes will be under construction from 7 a.m. to 2 p.m. during the three days of work.

PennDOT is asking motorists to be aware of changing traffic patterns during their work commutes.

The construction is part of a $4.7 million project to rebuild the roadway, curbing, culverts, drainage, guardrails, traffic signals and signage. The overall construction along Banksville Road has stretched from McFarland Road in Dormont to the Parkway West onramp that lead to the Fort Pitt Tunnels.
