Allegheny County Parks and Recreation Offer Free Swimming Lessons

Free swimming lessons offered at South Park beginning July 5.

Now that summer seems to be finally here, it is the perfect time to teach the little ones to swim.

Fortunately, the Allegheny County Parks Department makes that easy for you.

The department announced it will be offering free swimming lessons at several of the county pools including nearby South Park.

Lessons will be offered from 10 to 10:45 a.m. on Tuesdays and Thursdays at South, North, Settlers Cabin and Boyce parks.

Please take note; they have a lesson system according to last names. Those individuals whose last names beginning with the letters A through K, will start lessons on Tuesday, July 5 and meet on July 12, 19, and 26.

Individuals whose last names begin with the letters L through Z will start on Thursday, July 7 and attend classes also on July 14, 21, and 28.

Children must be five years or older to take the free swimming lessons. You do not need to pre-register for these classes.
