Looking for a kind heart … as a host family for Thai-USA Student Cultural Exchange Program- 2014

We will have a group of 29 Thai students and 3 teachers come to our High School next month from April 10, 2014 to May 14, 2014.

During the program, Thai students will be in Harrisburg and Washington D.C. from April 14-20, 2014 which will be during most the Spring recess. Therefore, it should not interfere with your holiday. Thai students will attend USC High School and stay with their host families for 23 days from April 21-May 12, 2014 as well as the few days prior to the trip (April 10-13).

We would like to invite you to host our Thai exchange students this year. We are very flexible in schedule. In case you will be out of town or unable to pick up Thai students after their activities, arrangements for transportation and housing will be arranged to accommodate your needs.

As a host family, you will receive an appreciation check of $350 for each  Thai student hosted. .We would recommend for you to host two students because it will be easier for you and the students. The appreciation check is for sharing expenses with you from hosting Thai students. In addition, you are eligible for free field trips with Thai students and USC ambassadors to Downtown Pittsburgh, Nationality Classrooms at the University of Pittsburgh, all day shopping at Grove City Outlet, tickets to River City Bass Band at Carnegie Music Hall, a ticket for Bowling and Pizza at AMF and two VIP tickets for our Thai Night Gala.

In July, 2013, the Thai-USA Exchange Program sponsored a group of USC students and a teacher for three weeks in Thailand. The trip was paid for by the Thai-USA Students Exchange Program, Thai schools and Thai families.

Thai-USA Student Exchange Program is unlike other exchange programs because the program provides Internship opportunities for USC students in Thailand in various areas even after USC students are already graduated from USC High School. Several USC students have already participated in the internship and training programs.

During this winter- 2014, one of the host families went to Thailand for three weeks. The host family had a wonderful time visiting Thai schools and Thai students whom they hosted. In addition, the host family traveled around Thailand with various Thai students’ families. They also were hosted by Thai families.

Please consider to support our Thai-USA Student Exchange Program by being a host family. With your generosity, the program can be continued to generate benefits for our younger generation - both Thai and USC students.

If you are interested in being a host family, please contact the Director of the Thai-USA Exchange Program,  Mrs. Luck Groves at 412-221-4816 e-mail: interfacemgmtintl@comcast.net
