USCHS Crew Team Competes in Midwest Regional Regatta

The Panthers competed against more than 40 other rowing clubs from the midwest region.

Gorgeous weather at beautiful Harsha Lake in Cincinnati, OH provided the perfect backdrop for the Midwest Scholastic Rowing Championship on Saturday, May 12.

Forty-five rowing clubs from 27 different cities and six states competed in this year’s event. The Upper St Clair crew team rowed strong and were able to send four boats to the afternoon’s semi-final events.

The competition proved to be too tough, though, and the Panthers were edged out of the next day’s finals to move on to Nationals. The strong showing from some of the Novice and JV boats means the team has a lot to look forward to in upcoming seasons.

Next Saturday, May 19, the Panthers will be competing at the Mercyhurst Prep Invitational Regatta on Presque Isle Bay in Erie, PA.
