In honor of mothers\, Mothers &\; More of South Hills\, Pittsburgh is sponsoring an event called Power of a Purse to provide th e gift of purses to women in need.Mothers &\; More is seeking donatio ns of new or like-new purses for the many women who call Womansplace\, I nc. home.  \;They also hope to go a step further\, and fill the purs es with toiletries and other essential items such as deodorant\, toothbr ushes\, razors\, etc. \;&ldquo\;We believe that a purse is symbolic of a woman&rsquo\;s economic power\, but it is also a practical everyday item that can help her feel put together\,&rdquo\; says Mothers &\; More member\, Katie Yakich. &ldquo\;Single mothers are the ones who stru ggle most to support their children. We want to show that we care about their endeavor to be successful and support their families.&rdquo\;The p urses will be given to the women served by Womansplace\, Inc.
