This fifteen-hour course will introduce elementary teachers to the inclusion of environmental education in a variety of curriculum areas. Participants will look for environmental entry points in their existing curriculum and find ways to utilize even the smallest green spaces to enhance their classes. The trails and streams of Boyce Mayview Park will provide resources for learning local natural history and the flora and fauna of our region. There will be opportunities to evaluate sample lessons from each core discipline to aide teachers in developing their own environmental integration strategies.
