DESCRIPTION:Celebrate Life\, Celebrate Art is Persad Center's premier fun
 d-raising event. Now in its 24th year\, this annual art auction has succ
 essfully generated over $3.5 million to benefit Persad Center's speciali
 zed counseling\, HIV prevention\, outreach\, education\, training and ad
 vocacy services.This year's event\, which will be held on Monday\, May 1
 4\, 2012 at the August Wilson Center for African American Culture\, will
  draw over 1\,800 people and feature more than 225 works of art by regio
 nally and nationally recognized artists. The event includes verbal and s
 ilent auctions\, dining and beverage service\, specialty coffees and des
 serts\, and a variety of popular entertainment. This event promises to a
 ttract a diverse crowd including business and community leaders\, region
 al artists\, and professionals of all ages.
