Upper St. Clair 2013 Primary Election Results

Th data is provided by the Allegheny County Division of Elections.

The unofficial results from Tuesday's Pennsylvania primary are in. The most heated race directly affecting Upper St. Clair was the race for Allegheny County Council District 5. Sue Means (R-Bethel Park) defeated Krista Harris (R-Mt. Lebanon) with 63 percent of the Republican vote. No one ran on the Democratic ticket. Louis Mafrice, Jr., Frank Kerber, Harry Kunselman and Buffy Hasco won the four open seats on the Upper St. Clair School Board. They ran unopposed. Daniel Paoly won the Upper St. Clair commissioner at-large seat. He ran unopposed. Rex Waller won the Upper St. Clair commissioner ward 2 seat. He ran unopposed. The current commissioner of ward 2, Donald Recktenwald, did not run for the position. Mark Christie won the Upper St. …

Tuesday is Primary Election Day, Upper St. Clair Polls Are Closed

It's Tuesday, May 21, and today is the Pennsylvania Primary Election. Polls are open from 7 a.m. to 8 p.m. The Upper St. Clair School Board and Upper St. Clair Commissioner races are uncontested. For Allegheny County Council, two Republicans Krista Harris and Sue Means are running against each other for District 5. Primary Election 2013: Deadline Nears for Absentee Ballots

Applications must be completed and returned to the Allegheny County Elections Division.

The deadline for Upper St. Clair residents who need an absentee ballot for the upcoming May 21 primary election is Tuesday, May 14. Applications must be completed and returned to the Elections Division no later than 5 p.m. Absentee ballots are available to registered voters who will be absent from their municipality on May 21 or those who cannot reach the polls due to an illness or physical disability. Applications can be requested through the mail or for fastest results, requested and filled out in person at the Allegheny County Elections Division, 601 County Office Building, 542 Forbes Avenue, Pittsburgh, PA 15219.  If properly registered, voters will be handed an absentee ballot to vote on the spot, which only takes a few minutes. …

If you're new, if you've moved, if you've changed names or parties, you must register.

Pennsylvania residents who wish to vote in the upcoming May 21 primary elections must be registered by Monday, April 22. Registered voters who have moved or changed their names or party affiliations must also notify their counties' elections divisions of their changes by April 22. An individual must be registered in a political party in order to vote in that party's primary. In order to qualify to vote in Pennsylvania, one must be a U.S. citizen at least one month prior to the primary, a resident of the state and his or her election district at least 30 days prior to the primary, and 18 years of age on or before the day of the primary. Individuals needing to register in Allegheny County may apply in person between the hours of 8:30 a.m. …

Candidates File for Seats on Upper St. Clair School Board

The Pennsylvania primary is May 21.

Familiar names will appear on the primary election ballot for the Upper St. Clair School Board.  Four candidates have filed for four open seats for four-year terms. All are currently on the board. The Pennsylvania primary will be held on May 21. The following candidates will appear on the ballot:

One Newcomer, Two Incumbents, Running for Upper St. Clair Commissioner

The Pennsylvania primary is May 21.

One newcomer and two imcumbents have filed to run for the Upper St. Clair Board of Commissioners. Newcomer Republican Rex Waller is the only candidate filed to run for the open Ward 2 seat currently held by Donald Rectenwald. Commissioner of Ward 4 Mark D. Christie, a Republican, and Commissioner at Large Daniel R. Paoly, a Republican, are the only candidates who filed for their respective seats. The primary is May 21.

Local Magistrate Running for Superior Court

District Judge Robert Wyda says he's at a point in his life and career that he's ready for the position.

Robert Wyda, the magisterial district judge for Upper St. Clair and Bethel Park, is running for Pennsylvania Superior Court. "I'm at a point in my life and career that this is a challenge and step I'm ready to make," Wyda said. "After all of my experience, I feel very comfortable and confident in my ability." Wyda has been a lawyer for 28 years and he's been the magisterial district judge for 14 years. His district of Upper St. Clair and Bethel Park is one of the most populous magisterial districts in Pennsylvania with 53,000 residents. Wyda, a Republican, said he has received a lot of positive encouragement about his candidacy.
