The Panthers, led by new head cach Denis Kirstein, kick off the 2012-13 season at home (Ice Castle in Castle Shannon) on Thursday, Nov. 1, against section rival Peters Township Indians. Puck drops at 6:40 p.m.
Anticipating an exciting game as both teams are ranked in the Post-Gazette's pre-season top 5 for PIHL AAA Division.
Additionally, these teams played two tightly contested games last year including an amazing 0-0 tie in overtime.
The Panthers had a strong showing in the annual St. Margarets Pre-Season Tournament reaching the semifinals, before losing to Canon-McMillan and finishing with a 4-1 record.

Solid win by the USC...............The Panthers take the 1st game in the season series with a hard fought 4-0 victory over the PT Indians. The Panthers were led in scoring by Austin Cassidy (hat trick) and Sean Allebrand (2 assists) while Jacob Puccetti (goal), Dan Crockett and Kasey Colcombe (assists) rounded out the scoring for the Panthers. An overall strong defensive effort was anchored by goaltender Mike Ambrose who stopped all 25 shots he faced to earn his 1st shoutout of the season.
Next up for the Panters is a road game against Erie McDowell on Monday 11/05 before returning home to play on Thursday 11/8 @8:40pm against the top ranked N. Allegheny TIgers.
