Mitt Romney Does it Again

I have to begin to wonder if Mitt Romney is on the payroll of the
Democratic party, whether he is being engaged to masquerade as the
standard-bearer for the Republicans as he does the best he can to lose
the race for the GOP.

In the latest example of Romney's "statesmanship," a convoluted,
out-of-kilter call for personal responsibility, he asserted in a secretly-recorded video that 47 percent of voters will cast their ballot for
President Obama, that 47 percent of the electorate are those "who are
dependent on government, who believe that they are victims, who
believe that government has a responsibility to take care of them."

I suppose Mr. Romney misspoke once again, and that what he said he
would not have uttered had he known that his comments were being
recorded. A presidential candidate should always expect that when he
makes a public speech, his comments are being recorded! How naive
can a potential leader of the free world be?

Must entitlement and welfare programs be scaled back? Are too large a
number of Americans dependent on government, abdicating personal
responsibility as they stick others with the bill for their poor
choices? You bet, but to make such a cold, callous, insensitive, and sweeping
statement as that which emanated from Mitt Romney ... publicly ... is not
something one expects to hear from a presidential candidate and is
foolhardy—the mark of someone with extremely poor judgment and
insensitivity.

There have been times that I have thought that the upcoming
presidential election was and would end very close. It is clear,
though, that every time Mitt Romney opens his mouth, he risks saying
something which moves him closer to ceding the race to President Obama,
as Romney is not able to think on his feet. Can those in authority in the
Romney campaign suggest to the candidate that if he wishes to have any
credibility whatsoever, that he refrain from making unscripted remarks
which will offend not only Democrats, but the Independents whose votes
he so desperately needs in order to win?

To those readers who say (and I am sure there will be many), "Spiegler, you closet Democrat louse! Romney told the truth! Every single Obama voter, 47% of the electorate, is a dreg of society that is dependent on the government!" Let us assume for the moment that my anticipated detractors are correct, that Romney's indictment of every Obama voter was accurate. Let me ask you folks this; do you believe he boosted his chances of being elected by blasting every Democratic stalwart in this fashion? If you do, I would contend that you are naive.

By way of full disclosure, I will note/reiterate that I will not be voting for either Mr. Obama or Mr. Romney. Neither of them is qualified to lead our nation and our world.

What I got out of Oren's latest rant: He believes what Romney said to be true, but he should not have said it "publicly.". So is Oren's feeling of superiority really justified?

So every single senior citizen on Social Security and who isn't working a part-time job is voting for Obama? You might want to do some fact-checking on who that 47% really is before making statements like that.

Hey, you left out the part where he said none of them pay any taxes!

Good comments kid............"THE TRUTH HURTS" How did we become this society that is "SO POLITICALLY CORRECT" it believes that the government should take care of us?
We used to be a country full of responsible people that looked out for each other, our community, State and Country!!!!! Now it seems it's "Every man/women for themselves".
Romney may not be the complete answer but he sure beats what we have now!!!
