What Stores Would You Like To See Open at South Hills Village?

Three new stores are opening on the other side of town at Ross Park Mall.

Three new stores will open this summer at the Ross Park Mall, mall officials announced Thursday.

They include:

Vera Bradley, which caters to women and offers designer handbags, luggage, stationery and accessories. Vera Bradley, based in Fort Wayne, IN, has 52 retail stores in the United States and eight outlet stores.

Madewell, a casual woman’s clothing store launched by J. Crew Group Inc. Madewell's offerings will focus on key fashion items such as jeans, chinos, T-shirts and fleece tops.

lululemon athletica, a technical yoga and athletic women's and men's apparel store that got its start in Vancouver, BC, in 1998.

Along with the store openings, Ann Taylor and Spencer Gifts will undergo renovations in 2012.

In addition, a Yo Place Frozen Yogurt location has opened at the mall.

Thursday's announcement made me wish the new stores would be opening at our local mall—South Hills Village, which is also owned by Simon Property Group.

What do you think? What stores would you like to see open at South Hills Village? Tell us in the comments.

South Hills Village posted on their Facebook page tonight that they will be welcoming Bare Escentuals, Francesca's Collections and Saga Hibachi Steakhouse and Sushi Bar this spring. I personally have had some good finds at the Francesca's in Shadyside and Ross Park. What are your thoughts?

Cheesecake Factory, Bahama Breeze, Red Lobster, Applebees just to name a few! We really need some key restaurants in the SH Village area.

I second the Cheesecake Factory and would also like to see a California Pizza Kitchen!

It will never happen. Nordstrom doesn't pop stores all over the place like Macy's. Ross Park won the lottery with that one. It was a dying mall and Nordstrom has completely revitalized the mall.

JC Penney - they are one of the few stores that have a wide selection of slim pants in stock for children and teens, and they have a great bedding and home decor department, much better prices than Macy's and in some cases better quality.

Would love, love, love to have a Maggiano's Italian restaurant here!

My seemingly impossible dream is for Sweet Tomatoes/Souplantation to open restaurants in this area. This is a marvelous national chain which offers an enormous, long salad bar, some hot foods and desserts for a bargain price. The selection is extraordinary and all of the items are fresh and delicious. I have had the pleasure of visiting its outlets in Florida and California, and it is always a treat. The closest locations to southwestern Pennsylvania at this time are in Illinois and sadly, the chain has indicated that it has no plans to move east!

It is surprising to me that with the large influx of Indian families in the South Hills, and particularly in Upper Saint Clair, that there is not one Indian restaurant for miles. I look forward to the day that I need not travel to Oakland's India Garden or North Hills' Taj Mahal for the delicious and unique Indian food that I crave! Surely that day is coming!

Mr. Spiegler, I suggest that you try Namaste on Banksville Road in the same shopping plaza that has Kuhn's Market. You will not be disappointed.
