Ward 3 Commissioner Candidate: Bob Orchowski
Candidate profile for the upcoming primary election on May 17.
Bob Orchowski has been on the Upper St. Clair Board of Commissioners since 1998 and is currently serving as the board's president.
Orchowski said he was thinking, "It might be time to wrap it up."
However, he said he's been getting positive feedback from the community and the board is working well together.
"Why stop a good thing?" Orchowski said.
The two factors most important to Orchowski are open government and budget control.
"We are a government entity that's driven by the budget," he said.
Orchowski said residents should vote for him, and have voted for him in the past, because of his track record.
"People, for the most part, agree with the decisions I make," he said. "And if they don't, they know where I stand. There is never any uncertainty."
His family moved into Upper St. Clair about 30 years ago. All four of his children went through the Upper St. Clair School District.
"It's a great overall community to move into and has a great school district," he said.
Orchowski believes the board of commissioners help to make it stay that way.
"I see Upper St. Clair as a bedroom community, a destination place, as being one of the top ten places to live as US News and World Report named it recently," he said.
Orchowski is the owner of Hillcrest Group, LLC. He works with clients on a day-to-day basis with environmental compliance activities and is involved in project development, acquistion or divestiture and related environmental permitting. His job allows him to have the flexibility to serve the community, he said.
Orchowski sees budget control and development projects as the future issues in Upper St. Clair.
