USC Police File Charges Against Robbery Suspects

Two of the men spent New Year's Eve in the Allegheny County Jail.

Upper St. Clair police have filed charges against three young men suspected of robbing the St. Clair Mini Market in November.

David A. Piatt and Matthew C. McDonald, both from Washington, PA, spent New Year's Eve in the Allegheny County Jail on $250,000 bond. Both men are charged with robbery, criminal conspiracy, recklessly endangering another person and possessing a handgun.

A third man, Charles Clark, is also a suspect, but was not yet arraigned as of Monday, Dec. 31.

Piatt and McDonald's preliminary hearings are scheduled with district Judge Robert Wyda on Jan. 7.

The victim, who is a father from Bethel Park, was held at gunpoint in the St. Clair Mini Market on Route 19 on Nov. 5. The suspects got away with about $650.

The suspects are also charged in other robberies around the area.

Good! Glad they caught them!! Just wonder if officer Klein let the young pup use his handy dandy notebook? (I hear blues clues). Poor Lt Englert having to work extra to make sure the township is safe!! The Chief of Police should be proud of his officers for making this come to a quick conclusion!! I am sure will make the community feel better
