Despite a thunderstorm early in the evening, the rain left the area just in time for the beginning of the 2012 Upper St. Clair High School prom.
The annual end-of-year dance at Hilton Garden Inn at Southpointe took place Tuesday night. Students were greeted with a red carpet as they dressed to impress.
Much dancing and many memories followed.
Our photographer was there to capture some moments. Be sure to upload the photos you took as well to our slideshow above.
And ladies, feel free to give props to local dress boutiques and salons where you prepped for the big night!

Each year, our beautiful, handsome, and accomplished Upper Saint Clair High School prom attendees appear on local cable television, chatting with hosts, and announcing their future plans, which in most instances means where they shall attend college. Their appearances would be solely a proud moment if not marred by one thing, the inability of many, if not most, to stop chewing gum for the brief moments that they are on camera. Is there no responsible adult involved in this event who can say a word to the teens about making a dignified appearance, suspending the gum-chewing for just a few minutes? Gum-chewing does not mix well with tuxedos and long, flowing, elegant gowns! It is never too early for one to learn the value and importance of dignity and decorum, which shall serve them well in adulthood!
