Trax Farms Celebrates 20th Strawberry Festival

Indulge in sweet treats made with berries fresh from the farm, and pick your own, too!

The summer sun is upon us, as are strawberries and fruit-picking fun! Trax Farms is celebrating its 20th annual strawberry festival June 10-12 and you're invited.

Fond memories come to mind when I recall picking strawberries with my family at Trax as a little girl. It should have been called pick-and-eat! For many area residents, the tradition has remained.

A three-day weekend event, activities and sweet treats will include all things strawberry. Have a family member not fond of the red fruit? Not to worry—there will also be great food from the grill, like hot dogs and barbecue ham, according to advertising manager Courtney Robinson.

Strawberry-covered Belgium waffles, sundaes, milkshakes and slushies will be on-hand and made fresh from the farm. Are you hungry yet?

Interested in the full experience? Pick-your-own strawberries will be available. The farm requests that you call ahead (412-835-3246) to be sure of picking times and dates.

This family-friendly event will also host pony rides, a petting zoo, train rides, fishing for berries and a bounce house.

The weekend kicks off Friday, June 10 at 10 a.m. and continues through Sunday, June 12 at 5 p.m.

Visit Trax Farms' website for more information, and be sure to take a peek at our strawberry recipes in honor of national strawberry month.
