Police, PennDOT Announce Aggressive-Driving Enforcement
Slow down, police will be ticketing.
PennDOT and the South Fayette and Cecil Township police departments held a news conference and enforcement event Tuesday on Route 50 in South Fayette Township to highlight the first wave of the aggressive-driving campaign that began on Monday, March 18.
More than 350 municipal police forces, with the Pennsylvania State Police, are participating in aggressive-driving activities through April 28. Police will concentrate enforcement efforts on roadways known to have a high number of aggressive-driving crashes.
Aggressive driving includes risky behaviors such as speeding, running red lights and stop signs, tailgating or improper passing.
According to PennDOT data, preliminarily in 2012, there were 6,725 aggressive- driving crashes in Pennsylvania. There were 183 fatalities in crashes involving aggressive-driving behaviors, an increase from 168 deaths in 2011.
The aggressive-driving enforcement is a part of the Pennsylvania Aggressive Driving Enforcement and Education Project and is funded by PennDOT’s investment of $2.5 million in federal funds from the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration.

Not long ago I was driving from Cecil to Bridgeville on Route 50 and a late model Corvette with the license plate WAR ROOM passed me at a very high rate of speed. I just hope that the individual who drove that car is cited for aggressive driving!

You are going slow and he is going fast, that is not aggressive driving, that is you are a "slow poke"!!! 4 lane Rt 50 between Cecil and Bridgeville is a great road to go fast on, good mostly level road, long curves built for speed and very little traffic !!!!
Jim Quinn would probably say you are a slow poke also!! His corvette is built to drive that way!!!

Also, I haven't heard of any accidents attributed to "aggressive driving between Bridgeville and Cecil on 4 lane 50 recently. Driving fast isn't aggressive driving.
