Be it a well-loved doll, a tough-as-nails action figure or a worn-to-the lining stuffed bear, a special toy has been part of just about everyone's childhood.
Patch readers, we'd love to see a photo of your child along with his or her favorite toy. Why not share those charming photos in our "Your Favorite Toy" photo contest, and for doing so possibly win a pair of tickets to a great family-friendly performance?
Starting today and until Wednesday, April 11, you may enter our contest by uploading your photo or photos of your favorite youngster with a favorite toy. Each Patch site in western Pennsylvania will choose one winner and award one prize, using a random drawing from entries submitted to each site.
Each winner will receive a pair of tickets to attend the Pittsburgh Ballet Theatre's production of the romantic comedy "Coppelia" at the Benedum Center for the Performing Arts. Featuring its own lifesize dancing dolls, the classic ballet tells the story of an inventor who creates the beautiful mechanical "Coppelia" and the confusion that ensues when villagers mistake her for lovely Swanilda—and vice versa.
Each pair of tickets will be for an 8 p.m. performance on Friday, April 13, or Saturday, April 14. Winners may choose their preferred date. The retail value of the tickets is $81.50.
Here's how to enter: First become a registered Patch user (if you aren't already), then upload your photo to the gallery on this page.
Be sure to include your real, full name; the name of the child and toy shown; and any other relevant information about what the photo shows. The email address you use to register must be a working one so we can reach you should we have questions—or should you be selected as a winner.
You must also be willing to provide to the Pittsburgh Ballet Theatre your name, address, telephone number, email address and preference of performance dates. Tickets for winners will be held at the will-call window of the Benedum Center, Downtown, to be picked up on performance day.
Entrants may submit one photo per day. You must own or have permission to submit the photograph—no third-party, professional portraits, please.
All photos must be posted by midnight to be judged for that day. The contest is open to legal residents of the 50 United States and the District of Columbia who are 18 and older.
And this wouldn't be a contest without a complete list of official contest rules; you can read them by clicking here. Winners will be selected by random drawing Wednesday, April 11, and they must respond to notification within 24 hours.
