McDonald's Upgrades with Outdoor Seating Area

Demolished Wednesday, the new structure on Route 19 in Peters Township is slated to be rebuilt in just a few months.

The Golden Arches along Route 19 in Peters Township still stand as of Wednesday, but one of the closest McDonald's to Upper St. Clair isn't serving up Big Macs and fries.

Yesterday marked the start of a 93-day demolition and reconstruction project by McDonald's USA, LLC. The restaurant is experiencing an upgrade with associated site improvements, according to Emily Moldovan, assistant planner for Peters.

A 4,313-square-foot eatery, which includes an outdoor seating area with 23 seats, will be constructed. The one-story masonry structure—155 square feet larger than the former space—won't have a Playland, but will have double drive-thru lanes.

Moldovan confirmed the outdoor patio will be located in the front of the building.
