High School Student Charged With Making Terroristic Threat

Upper St. Clair police arrested the student at his home on Thursday morning.

Upper St. Clair police charged an Upper St. Clair High School student on Thursday with making a terroristic threat, according to a statement released by Superintendent Patrick O'Toole.

O'Toole stated that a threat towards Upper St. Clair High School was reported to police and school district officials on Thursday morning.

Students reported seeing officers searching the classrooms and buses on the high school campus. O'Toole said the officers were at the school in case the student could not be found at his home when they arrested him this morning.

Police have told O'Toole that they found no evidence to support the student's intention to carry out the threat.

District officials and police are not detailing what the threat was or how it was made.

"The Upper St. Clair School District and the township police are committed to working together for the safety of our students and staff and will investigate any and all threats," O'Toole stated.
