Upper St. Clair community leaders and residents wish Upper St. Clair Patch a happy birthday!

Wow, it's been a year!

Upper St. Clair Patch opened for business on Dec. 15, 2010, and it has been quite a year. Just check out our ten most read stories we've covered since launching.

During our time, the community has experienced a variety of news. There was tragedy, such as when an elderly woman was killed in her McMillan Road home

And fame! Our cameras caught actress Emma Watson in Deerfield Manor while filming a movie.

Then, there was the truly bizarre news, like when more than $100,000 flew out of a bank van on Route 19.

However, the primary stories that stand out to me as I look back on the year show just how terrific people are in our township.

For example, former Major League Baseball player Sean Casey and his wife, Mandi, raised about $1 million in one year—with the help from the community—to build a baseball field for kids who live with special needs.

And a dedicated group of residents worked to make Upper St. Clair Veterans Park a reality—a permanent monument that honors the men and women who have served, are serving and will serve our country.

Thank you, Upper St. Clair, for your continued support and readership. I hope this is only the beginning of a long partnership—and friendship.

The video above shows some community leaders and residents sharing their congratulations with Upper St. Clair Patch. You can share your birthday wishes, too! Tell us in the comments below.
