1. Bedner’s Farm Fresh Market
Where/When: Bedner Farm Market, 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Friday, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Saturday. 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Sunday
Why Go: Every weekend at Bedner’s Farm you and your family can experience home made ice cream, caramel apples, Cheri's NY Top Dogs, Bob's Lemonade & Pretzels, Porky & Beth's BBQ and much more!
2. South Park Amphitheater Concert
Where?/When?: South Park Amphitheater, 7:30 p.m. on Friday.
Why Go?: The Summer Concert Series continues in South Park with a performance by Joe Grushecky and the Houserockers.
Pricing: Free.
3. Habitat for Humanity’s Kids’ Triathlon
Where/When: South Park, 7 a.m. on Saturday
Why Go: Athletes ages 7 to 12 are invited to run, swim and bike for a great cause in an exciting day promoting an active, healthy lifestyle for youth. Proceeds benefit Habitat For Humanity Of Greater Pittsburgh, whose mission is the elimination of substandard housing in Allegheny County and to make decent shelter a matter of conscience and action.
Pricing: $30 per athlete.
4. Mother and Daughters Program: Growing and Changing
Where?/When?: St. Clair Hospital, 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. on Saturday
Why Go?: Designed for girls ages 9 to 11 and their mothers, the Growing and Changing program centers on the physical changes that accompany the onset of puberty. Topics include female anatomy, reproductive development, menstruation and healthy lifestyle habits, with a focus on open communication between mothers and daughters. St. Clair Hospital recommends that participants of this class also attend the Healthy Body Image program. For additional information, please call 412-942-5895.
Pricing: $40 per class, $60 for both Growing and Changing & Healthy Body Image
5. Democratic Picnic
Where?/When?: McLaughlin Run Road Recreation Center at 1 to 4 p.m. on Sunday
Why Go?: The Democratic Picnic will be held at the Recreation Center on McLaughlin Road.
Refreshments will include pork, hot dogs, hamburgers, and drinks provided by the USC Democratic Committee. Everyone is welcome.
