Former Employee Accused of Stealing From Friendship Village Residents

Police state the woman sold the jewelry to a 'cash for gold' business.

Upper St. Clair police charged a former Friendship Village employee with stealing jewelry from four different residents.

Cori Lynn Kent, 43, of Donora, plans to finish paying back the victims and will plea to a summary charge on Monday, Oct. 29 in district Judge Robert Wyda's courtroom.

Friendship Village staff received an anonymous phone call in June that Kent was stealing jewelry from elderly residents in the retirement community where she was recently employed, according to the criminal complaint filed by police.

An investigation by the Upper St. Clair police revealed five sales transactions by Kent between May 29 and June 18 at the Belle Vernon Treasure Hunt store. She was paid $1,505 for the jewelry from the store, according to the complaint.

On June 21, Kent went to the police station and provided a written statement admitting to taking the jewelry, according to the complaint.

Friendship Village is an independent living community located on Boyce Road.

Congrats to the line officers at USC PD. I am sure they Are happy they caught the perp. I so want to ask them some time do they allow the young officer mike to carry a real gun? Or is it a prop? I don't know why but I could see Mr Bly, Klein, dean, and Murphy rolling there eyes at him, I get the mental picture he would whip his notebook out and start singing to Blues Clues, and then look at the older officers for help and figuring out his handy dandy notebook that Mr. Klein gave him along with his blue crayon. But in all honest, this dept has s lot of good men, who uphold the laws and make sure the good does not turn into the bad or the ugly. And it is a shame that little old ladies couldn't even trust someone that was suppose to be helping them in there golden years.
