DUI Suspect Held for Trial

The latest from the office of Magisterial District Judge Robert Wyda.

 

DUI charges against a Mt. Pleasant man were held for court Monday in district Judge Robert Wyda's courtroom.

Upper St. Clair police arrested Kevin L. Bell, 27, at 2 a.m. on Nov. 15 on Thorntree Drive and Boyce Road.

According to a criminal complaint filed by the police, the arresting officer observed Bell's car swerving on Route 19. 

Bell's blood alcohol level was measured at .194 percent, according to the complaint. The legal level of alcohol in Pennsylvania is .08 percent.

Hearing Rescheduled

The preliminary hearing for Samuel Butler Vendeland, of Moon Township, was rescheduled for March 18.

Vendeland is facing drug charges after an Upper St. Clair police officer pulled him over for passing vehicles on the wrong side of Boyce Road in December, according to a criminal complaint filed by the officer. Suspected marijuana was later found in his vehicle after a search, according to the complaint.
