Dog lovers are invited to the 4th Annual Pooch Parade and Picnic at nearby South Park on Sunday, Oct. 14.
This family-friendly event features a one mile fun walk to benefit the Myasthenia Gravis Association of Western Pennsylvania. MGA is a private, non-profit that provides treatment and support services to those with myasthenia gravis—a chronic autoimmune muscle weakness disorder.
All registered participants will receive morning refreshments, a goodie bag, a sweatshirt and a bandana for their dog. The event features a costume contest with prizes for best dog and best dog/owner combo costumes. There will be fabulous raffles of gift baskets, Steelers tickets and a Myrtle Beach vacation. A variety of vendors will be on hand to provide information and products of interest to dog owners.
Registration begins at 9 a.m., the Pooch Parade begins at 10 a.m., followed by a picnic at noon. Hot dogs and beverages will be provided, and attendees are asked to bring their own picnic basket or a covered dish to share.
