It was quite the site to see in the South Side.
On Wednesday, the Hot Metal Bridge in Pittsburgh’s SouthSide Works neighborhood got some, uh, unusual flare.
In support of breast cancer awareness Aerie employees hung hundreds of bras from the bridge, which is adjacent to the American Eagle Outfitters and Aerie corporate headquarters.
The intimates and apparel brand from American Eagle Outfitters, Inc., Aerie has teamed up with Bright Pink, a non-profit focused on the prevention and early detection of breast and ovarian cancer in young women. The goal of the partnership, which continues through October, is to educate women about the importance of proactively managing breast and ovarian health, raise funds for Bright Pink, and have some fun at the same time.
A $1 donation of up to $50,000 for every bra sold in Aerie’s 22 stores across the country will be donated to Bright Pink. Customers also may make a personal donation of any amount to benefit Bright Pink. Here’s where the fun part comes in; There will be in-store parties featuring pink treats and giveaways, special pink Aerie merchandise, and a new “Bright Pink” nail polish at various Aerie locations. For information on the parties, visit www.aerie.com/facebook.
Customers also can text PINK to 59227 to subscribe to Bright Pink’s popular “Underwire Alerts.” For more information, visit www.facebook.com/aerie and www.facebook.com/brightpink.
