TEAM WALDIE FORMS TO PARTICIPATE IN 9/11 HEROES RUN
Pittsburgh – (August 25, 2012) Ken Waldie, a 1973 Bethel Park High School graduate, earned a mathematics degree from the US Naval Academy. He obtained his Masters Degree from Northeastern University, graduating first in his class. Ken, an employee at Raytheon Corporation in Boston, MA was a passenger on American Airlines Flight 11 that struck the first World Trade Center Tower on September 11, 2001.
The 9/11 Heroes Run is a 5K for the 9K who have lost their lives since 9/11. Come join the Travis Manion Foundation as we run to honor our Heroes. The 2012 9/11 Heroes Run is bringing communities together throughout the country and around the world this September 11th. Their goal is to never forget the sacrifices of all of the Heroes of September 11th - veteran, first responder, military, and civilian. “We honor the fallen by challenging the living.”

"Ken's friends" and classmates celebrate his life through the creation of the Ken Waldie Scholarship Program. Designed to help rising Bethel Park High School students achieve their college dreams, The Ken Waldie Memorial Fund awards two scholarships to local high school seniors every year. To date, over $80,000 has been awarded. The Ken Waldie Memorial Fund Inc. is a tax exempt organization (#45-0476540) with the primary purpose of providing scholarships for higher education.
